Birth No. 57 – 17 December 2013

We are pleased to announce that we have had our 57th successful birth! Pang Buannoi, the ele that gives birth in The Last Mahout film by David Adams, had another baby boy in the early hours of this morning 17 December. He has been sponsered by Bayer and they named him Plai Chiwitdee, meaning good health to reflect their mission statement.

Birth No. 56 – 20 July 2013

Pang Jintara gives birth to a baby girl – Number 56! On July 20th, probably around 2:30am, Pang Yok Fa was born but nobody knew until over an hour later! Her name means celestial jade.

Birth No. 55 – 25 June 2013

Pang Toi Ting gave birth successfully to a girl on 25 June, our 55th (successful birth since 2000) bundle of joy! She came from Pattaya to have her baby here. The jumbo event happened at 4:30am. Toiting is not a sociable elephant but she seems to be taking to motherhood very well. The baby has been named Pang Pailin which is a sapphire.

Birth No. 54 – 13 March 2013

It is with great pleasure we can announce that on Thai National Elephant day we had our 54th successful birth. Pang Doksanu gave birth at 11:22pm to a very active baby Girl. From just a few minutes after she was born & a couple of wobbly stumbles she was on her feet & walking then running all over the place. Then out of the darkness came another Elephant, Pang Nongair had got off her chain & came over to see if she could help out. She stayed with Doksanu & her baby offering some support. Staff assisted by tying a pakama around the baby’s waist and he and Pi Om guided the baby followed by mum to a makeshift pen near the sala. I think Nook is going to have her hands full with this one. Her name is Pang WanChangThai. which literally means Thai Elephant Day
